Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere Agricultural Exhibition Ground Launched Second Agricultural Technology Transfer Hub

The Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), has launched Mwl. J.K. Nyerere exhibition ground located in Morogoro Municipality, to become the second Agricultural Technology Transfer Hub (AgriTecH). The event was graced by Honorable Mathayo Maselle, District Commissioner (DC) for Malinyi District who was the guest of honour. Mr. Maselle commended TARI for coming with this idea that can contribute dissemination of improved technologies are brought closer to farmers. During his speech, Honorable Maselle said that, he was impressed by the demonstration plots which show case the performance of different crop varieties which can be produced in the Eastern Zone covering four regions of Tanga, Morogoro, Pwani and Dar es Salaa.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Geoffrey Mkamilo the Director General of TARI, said that, TARI is determined to ensure that improved technologies reach the end users using different dissemination pathways, among them is the use of Agricultural Technology Transfer Hubs. In this way, TARI has started to strengthen eight agricultural exhibition grounds across the country. The first agricultural technology transfer hub started in 2020 as pilot at Nyakabindi in Baridi, Simiyu region.
