PROMINENT RETIRED RESEARCHERS APPLAUSE TARI FOR NOTABLE RESEARCHES

Event Date: 01-01-1970

Venue:

Prominent retired researchers have acknowledged upcoming researchers from the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) for coming up with research projects that respond to the challenges facing the nation including climate change.

This was said today by the retired researcher Festo Ngulu at the Internal Program Review (IPR) meeting of the TARI Selian and Tengeru centers held in the TARI Selian meeting hall where he explained that young scientist should focus on studies that help farmers.

Ngulu also added that researchers should collaborate with the Technology Transfer unit so that the good work they do can reach the targeted audience and the TTP unit should also be innovative in promoting research works.

In addition, in the meeting, other retired researchers (Kheri Kitenge, Sostenes Kweka and John Saria) who were invited have explained that researchers should be patriotic in their work so as to help the nation, and the TARI management should arrange short-term training with the retired so as to exchange skills.

In the IPR meeting that involved other stakeholders such as TPHPA and CIAT, researchers have been able to explain the implementation of work for the year 2024 and the plan for the implementation of research work for the year 2025.
