TARI Tengeru in collaboration with TARI Ifakara engages farmers to identify the best banana seeds (Banana) Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute TARI through its centers has continued with the Research of Best Banana Seeds by involving farmers in Kilombero District. The exercise has been conducted by researchers from TARI Tengeru and Ifakara. The farmers who participated in this exercise are from the villages of Mbingu, Machipi, and Sululu. in this exercise, farmers have been able to determine the best seeds by looking at the various characteristics of bananas if there are preferential characteristics, paired comparison and taste (Sensory Evaluation Test) where bananas were cooked and tasted. Bananas being researched include NAROBAN 1,2,3,4, and 5, Others are NARITA 2, 22, 26.
