TARI UKIRIGURU centre is equipped and skilled to offer the following services with high experienced person, competent and professional; The following were the services offers:-

1. TRAINING on:-

i. CASSAVA PRODUCTION

Ø  TARI Ukiriguru offers training for cassava seed entrepreneurs on how to multiply cassava seeds at their own fields

Ø  Good Cassava Agronomic Husbandry and Marketing

ii. SWEET POTATO PRODUCTION

Ø  Production of clean and quality planting materials

2. SOIL, WATER QUALITY AND PLANT LABORATORY ANALYSIS

Soils laboratory at TARI Ukiriguru was established to offer services on analysis of soils, plant tissue and water samples from various stakeholders of Lake Zone Districts and other neighboring Zones of Tanzania. Some of key stakeholders include small scale, medium, large scale farmers, District Councils, agricultural business companies, soil related research projects and other land users.

 

IMPORTANCE OF SOIL LABORATORY

Ø  To determine different soil types and amount of plant nutrients available in soil for improvement of crop production.

Ø  To characterize soils and evaluate their fertility status.

Ø  To technically advice farmers and other clients the type, right amount and methods of fertilizers application based on soil types

Ø  Identifies different nutrients available to plants

Ø  Collecting soil, plant and water samples from different stakeholders

Ø  Preparation of soil samples for analysis.
