Event Date: 01-01-1970

Agriculture, Livestock and fisheries Members of Council Assembly (MCA) from Marakwet County in Kenya were delighted earlier this week after they toured the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) Selian and Tengeru centers in Arusha.

Hon. Jeremia Kibwott the chairman of the team leading 12 MCAs said that they were satisfied by the Tanzanians humility and warm welcome during they visit which aimed to exchange ideas and capacity building as East African Community so as to move together.

Hon. Kibwott said TARI should be proud of its achievement in transforming agriculture because what is being done is well known in the community and the ideas acquired during the visit will be shared in their community so as to improve the agricultural activities.

TARI Selian Centre Director Dr. Nicholaus Kuboja told the team that the Centre is mandated to conduct research in wheat, barley, maize and beans crops, conduct soil analysis and socio economics research.
