Farm Impliments and Laboratory Facilities Received Under Cotton Victoria Project to Boost Research Activities at TARI Ukiriguru

Under Cotton Victoria Project, TARI Ukiriguru has received different farm implements and Laboratory tools to boost research activities. Some of these implements includes:- 3-Furrower ridges for seedbed preparation , 4-Manual Knapsack 20-Liter tank with anti-puncture injected tires, Three 6.5H Gasoline two wheel tractors, 3-Set of auxiliary iron wheels for the two wheel tractors in plough work3- Seed preparation Equipment for the 6.5HP two wheel tractors, 3-Lawn Mower, 6-Hand rotary hoe wooden handle, A 20-Saw Gin/10-inch diameter, 3-Trailer, A cold room, 3-Seeder for white 6.5 HP two wheel tractor and 3- Front mounted Brush Cutter with reduction pulley for 6.5HP Gasoline Two wheel tractors.
Dr.Paul Sabas Saidia(TARI Ukiriguru Center Director and Cotton Victoria Project Focal Person inTanzania) in collaboration with Dr. Everina Lukonge(Local technical cordinator of Cotton Victoria Project in Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania) do extend they’re thanks to the government of Brazil through Cotton Victoria Project ,the Ministry of Agriculture under Hon. Hussein Mohamed Bashe(Minister of Agriculture) and The Director General of Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute(TARI) Dr. Geoffrey Mkamilo for their support that has made it possible for these implements easily reach TARI Ukiriguru.
A team of TARI Management led by Dr. Paul Sabas Saidia(TARI Ukiriguru Center Director and Cotton Victoria Project Focal Person inTanzania) the third from left together with Dr.Everina Lukonge(Local technical Coordinator of Cotton Victoria Project in Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania) the third from right. This was a time when the management was witnessing and approving the received farm implements and Laboratory facilities.
Following the arrival of a sealed container with the farm implements and Laboratory facilities at TARI Ukiriguru from Brazil via Tanzania Port Authority on 9.04.2023, Dr. Paul Sabas Saida(TARI Ukiriguru Center Director) on 12.04.2023 led TARI Ukiriguru Management team to witness and approve the implements and tools brought. He also thanked Dr. Everina Lukonge(Local technical Coordinator of Cotton Victoria Project in Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania) for her tireless follow-up that has made it possible now to have the implements at the center.
The TARI Ukiriguru management team all together with the Center Director agreed to assign young scientists from TARI Ukiriguru in collaboration with artisans to assemble all the implements and other facilities except the Cold room and the Saw gin which will be assembled by Engineers specialized in the area of Cold room & Saw gin installation. On 15.04.2022 a team of technicians started the task of assembling the parts of the farm implements ready for daily activities.
