Dr. Caresma Joseph Chuwa is a Food Scientist and nutritionist expert employed by the Government of Tanzania at Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute Ukiriguru under the ministry of Agriculture. She is working as a Senior Research Officer in Research and Innovation department in post-harvest management of crops in value addition and products diversification . She has 15 years experience in research for recipes formulations and standardization of low cost complementary foods for infants and children, cereals, root and tubers, fruits and vegetables for the ready-to-cook, ready-to-reconstitute and ready-to-save products such as bread mix, muffin mix, instant porridge mix, jam mix, chutney, fruits syrup, cordial, crush, nectar, candy, osmotic-dehydrated fruits, vegetable powder, fermented products (sauerkraut, cucumber, wine, vinegar, cider). She has participated in various research activities as Principal investigator and Collaborator. She has the author and co-author of over 25  research publications in peer-reviewed journals in area of Food Science, Technology and Nutrition. For detailed CV click here.
