2017 played a big role in advising whether or not to allow cotton cultivation in Katavi region since it lies near the red bollworm quarantine zone. Using research findings, It was advised that the Katavi cotton production poses insignicant threat against the red bollworm invasion. The past two seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19 Katavi had produced approximately 500 tonnes of seed cotton valued at 600 million Shillings.  2019/20 produced 8,000 tonnes sold at 9.6 Billion Shillings which entred in Katavi farmers currency circulation.  The crop is expected to bring positive impact to the farmers livelihood.  2014 Functional responses of Potential Predatory coccinellids to Cotton aphids were identified
